Hello. There are several different implants out there on the market. If you are worried about silicone due to the fact that they could rupture there is a new "gummy bear" implant that is made of a cohesive gel. In the case of an implant rupturing the gummy bear implant stays cohesive and the idea is silicone wont travel outside of the breast cavity. Although silicone implants are recently the more popular choice, you should find an implant that is best for you. In physician selection you should only use a plastic surgeon who is board certified. Your plastic surgeon should also be able to provide you with the best education and information when making your decision on implants. Best of luck to you! 

I would continue your trust with your plastic surgeon.  Remember she is likely a very well trained plastic surgeon!   For reconstruction, I definitely recommend silicone implants.  You will have a very unnatural look and feel with a saline implant.  Talk with your plastic surgeon to decide which implant will be right for you.  Best wishes.
