Is it possible to remove or reduce lipoma without surgery?

Surgical excision of a single lipoma under local anaesthesia can be done. The post incision scar depends on the size the lipoma. Kindly meet a cosmetic surgeon... Good Luck.

Hello! Thanks for your question.  Depending on their size, some lipomas can be removed in the office using local anesthesia! It's best to have it assessed by a plastic surgeon in-person. Hope that helps.

Hi there and thanks for your question!  Typically lipomas are removed surgically but are done under local anesthesia as an in-office procedure.  The procedure does not take long and you are able to go about your normal routine thereafter with no downtime.  Please consult with a plastic surgeon for an in-person evaluation.  Best of luck! 

Thank you for sharing your question.  In most cases the best treatment for a lipoma is surgical excision through a small incision.  There are alternatives such as Kybella injections to help dissolve the lipoma but this is an off-label use and needs to be discussed at length with your surgeon.  Hope this helps.

If the lesion is indeed a lipoma, the only way to remove it is with surgery. There are not any non-invasive methods to remove a lipoma. If it is a cyst you could aspirate the contents with a needle, but even in that case it would come back.
