Can I apply minoxidil at my temples?

Hi, Few days back i consulted a doctor and he confirmed i have androgenic alopecia. He given finasteride (1 mg)and minoxidil(1 ml daily twice). but i noticed loosing hair a t temples. So can i apply minoxidil at my temples?

Applying minoxidil to the temples can be done. However have realistic expectations as to how much growth you will get. Finasteride and minoxidil primarily are used to help slow down the loss.

While minoxidil works for some, the problem with the medicine is that it does not stop hair loss, and the DHT will continue is binding to the hair shaft which will eventually overtake any additional growth caused by the Minoxidil and die, perhaps just slightly later than it would have without the medicine.Also, the alcohol base required to support the active ingredients also cause irritation of the scalp and severe reactions for many people, such as the increased shedding you are describing. The fact is that it does not work for everyone.The best thing to do would be to see a doctor who specializes in hair regrowth and the re-balancing of body biochemistry who can diagnose the cause of your hair loss. You’ll want to ask your doctor if the hair loss you are experiencing in the temples is from hairline maturation alone or whether it’s from androgenetic alopecia. If it’s from androgenetic alopecia, minoxidil might help.

These are two significant drug to treat your hair loss. Since you already have a doctor, you should speak with that doctor about these drugs and their use. Mixoxidil might grow hair on the temples when applied there
