Hi, doctors, I'm in my 30s and been taking finasteride since I was 18 and have a full head of hair. I am slim, 65 kilos and I don't have much fat. my issue is that I'm not happy with my eating habits and the only thing I can blame is the finasteride. I feel if I continue into my 30s and 40s with my current appetite I will eventually gain weight in my gut. I love being healthy but I feel the finasteride may be affecting it. my sex drive is also very low but I don't want to cease medication

Answer: Increased appetite and Finasteride? Hair restoration options
Thank you for your question! This is likely how your body is reacting to the treatment. It is neither good nor bad. I would speak to your provider who can look at your scalp to make sure this is not a problem. Best of luck!
This will need an evaluation to answer effectively. I suggest a consultation with a cosmetic dermatologist with experience in hair restoration and maintenance. There are some great options for hair restoration and maintenance like prp injections which can stimulate hair growth. Hope this helps.
