Hormonal acne, had thyroid cancer, had thyroid removed...nothing to do with medication...just info. What cleanser would be best for me?

You can take  Spironolactone and levothyroxine together. There is no drug interaction. levothyroxine is best absorbed on an empty stomach so first thing in am works well. Certain supplements, iron and calcium, if taken at the same time interfere with absorption. With this type of acne a gentle cleanser such as cetaphil works well.

You can take the spironolactone  and your thyroid pill in the AM.  Your acne does look like the type that frequently responds to spironolactone , although it sometimes takes a few months.  I frequently use it for adult women who I think a mild hormone irregularity may be contributing to the acne.   Lana Long, MD
