Nipple piercing rejection - Will it scar? Is surgery needed? (photos)

Question

I've had my nipples piercing for over 5 years now and about a year ago i started noticing a hole in the middle of my nipple where you can see the barbell. Some sebaceous fluid kept coming out of it so i just thought it was normal and proceeded to clean if often. Yesterday i noticed how big it got and i read it means rejection. im worried it wont heal on its own. Sould i get recontructive surgery or is it totally not necesary? Im worried about breast feeding in the future.

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photo, it looks like it is best to remove it. It will probably leave a scar.

Take and leave out the bar and let your nipple heal. With the bar, you probably have interfered with your ducts and breast feeding may be more difficult. The bar probably tore tissue from being inside your clothes.
