Can nipples be reconstructed and still have sensitivity after a botched breast reduction?

My breast reduction was 17 weeks ago and one nipple is sunken in and white. The other is just starting to heal . But it is misshapen, sunken in and the breast is still hard and comes to a point.

Scarring after such an extensive procedure like breast reduction may, temporary or permanently, affect the appearance of nipple and areola. I am sure that your surgeon and consent forms that you signed before surgery mention possibility of nipple/areola side effects including partial or total loss, scarring and secondary deformity like one you currently experience. It would be in your best interest to do nothing for about 8-12 months and see whether this condition will improv; if not, reconstruction of the nipple may be done when result is mature and blood supply optimal to reconstruct nipples. There are many techniques available and all of that is done in local anesthesia. Be patient. Good luck..

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

You did not post photos, so I cannot be specific. You are still early in the healing phase and still have swelling. Once you reach 6 months, if you are still concerned, then post photos or go back to your surgeon. Please let your surgeon know now all your concerns.
