How Much Juvederm Can I Have Injected in One Session?

Facial fillers provide natural restoration of facial contour and volume. They should be performed in a conservative fashion to avoid complications and an unnatural appearance. I typically focus on one or two specific anatomic regions that can be significantly improved by one or two syringes of Juvederm. This allows a quantitative and exacting approach to facial volume and its restoration with facial fillers.
Timing should coincide with the type of injection. Since Juvederm is a non-stimulatory filler, Juvederm injections can be spaced apart by as little as a few days. Preferably, I choose to separate Juvederm injections by several weeks.

Thank you for your question about Juvederm.  The amount of product that can be injected at one time depends on the area/areas that are being treated.  Typically we do not inject more than one syringe in the lips at one time.  Our office recommends waiting 1-2 weeks before being treated again.  This allows the area to heal and any swelling to subside.

How much Juvederm is needed is highly patient dependent. How much can be injected at one time is highly dependent on the injector. I can tell you that we usually inject no more than a syringe  (o.8 ml) in each cheek and less in other anatomical areas. The number of anatomical areas needed to treat and the depth of the injection (deeper injections allow for more product to be used safely) will determine the maximum that can be injected. We then have patients return in 4-6 weeks to determine if additional injections are required.
