Wound repair surgery - expectations?

With trying to suture the wound as it is now there may be an increase risk of developing an infection at the site. My preference is usually to allow this area to heal on its own perhaps with the assistance of a wound. Then, once the wound is completely healed, do s scar revision after 3-6 months. That generally yields consistent results for me. 

Thank you for your question. Typically, if the wound is clean, the only thing that a direct suture closure will do is get rid of the problem area faster - and close the wound. Packing the wound or using a wound VAC is another way to help a surgical area heal from the inside out. Ideally, the scar from a wound closed with suture will be better than one that granulates in (as with a VAC or packing). The only potential downside is if the wound is not clean, or there are bacteria present - a wound closed with sutures can become infected more easily. From your pictures, you look to be healing well! You will likely feel tight for a couple weeks, but hang in there! Best of luck.
