Smile and lip filler? My smile isn’t as wide from upper corner to corner as it was before.

Question

I had my lips filled 1mo. ago (1 ml of juv., nasolabial folds filled & Botox for crows feet at the same time. I went to B.C. Plastic Surgeon. I’m pleased with the results when I’m not smiling. But, my smile isn’t as wide from upper corner to corner as it was bf. My smile is smaller in length. Also,my upper lip rolls in slightly when smiling making it look less full. What might have caused these 2 issues?Are they common prob. & can it be fixed?

This is difficult to answer without pictures. If you're unhappy with your results, you can have the filler dissolved or a touch-up may give improvement. I recommend following up with your injector. Hope this helps.

You want your filler to look as good dynamically (when smiling), as it does statically (resting face). The placement of the filler is crucial to this. While some augmentation might be achieved with one syringe, it is possible that a second may correct to your liking.

I'm glad you have had an overall positive experience with fillers and neurotoxins.  They really achieve great results.  Although pictures seem to tell a story the best, I think I understand your description accurately.  Is it possible the fillers were injected along your vermillion border (line where the pink of your skin starts around your lips) instead of deep in the volume of your lips?  This could definitely be a possibility.  An option would be to purchase another syringe of filler and have it injected in the full volume of your lips to enhance the volume.
