Thank you for your question. It sounds like you are considering an ICON Max G PhotoFacial. We have the same device. Everyone will have their own technique. We will generally do a photofacial with 2 passes. One pass will be with setting targeting brown pigment. The other pass would be with setting targeting vascular lesions (red blood vessels). If you have a lot of browns or reds in an area, the technician may give you some extra pulses. Best of luck.
Thank you for your question mikemills. IPL is a great treatment for facial rejuvenation. Different manufacturers have different protocols for the treatments. Some recommend one pass and others recommend multiple passes. We use the Sciton BBL. This has a large spot size and fast repetition rate, allowing us to perform multiple passes at lower settings.
