I don't recommend doing laser hair removal yourself due to the risk of complications. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a laser hair removal expert. It will take a series of treatments. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for your question Sarabe. IPL is a great treatment for facial rejuvenation. It can also be used for hair removal. Although at-home products exist, I find that they are not as effective as a professional treatment. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!

IPL is not a very efficient means of hair removal, compared with other lasers.  And home hair-removal kits are often not very good either.  Most of our clients who have tried these methods in the past have complained about the poor results.
If you are seeking laser hair removal, treatment by a qualified physician or clinic is your best bet.  The better ones will have a variety of lasers to treat your particular skin type (not all lasers are appropriate for all skin tones), and this will give you much better results.  They will also keep any risks to a minimum so that you avoid burns, discoloration, etc. that can result from home-care kits.  This is especially true if you are treating more sensitive areas such as the bikini.
