Answer: Treatments for diffuse redness Thank you for your question mikemills. I understand your concern. An IPL photofacial is an outstanding treatment for facial rejuvenation. It works by using bright light to target and destroy pigment and redness in the skin. Laser Genesis by Cutera uses gentle micro-pulses of infrared light to target and destroy microscopic blood vessels in the skin. It is difficult to make an assessment without a formal exam in the office where I can directly view the skin. However, I hope the information provided here is useful. For rosacea, generalized redness, diffuse redness, and broken capillaries both visible light (from IPL) as well as infrared light work. I have developed a combination treatment which uses both IPL and infrared light to target and destroy the blood vessels using different wavelengths. This is called the Tight and Bright Rejuvenation treatment. The first step is a Forever Young BBL IPL photofacial and the second step is Skin Tyte, which uses infrared light. When both of these treatments are used in combination, superior results are achieved. I recommend an initial series of six monthly treatments followed by one maintenance treatment every three months thereafter. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!

Answer: IPL and Laser Genesis for redness IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light and it defines the type of light pulsed over the skin. In my experience IPL is the treatment of choice for redness, and capillaries. I recommend a series of 5-6 sessions three weeks apart. The results might appear slowly over time because the blood vessels need time to heal from under the skin. The results are very predictable, the skin looks younger and more radiant. Thank you for your question.
