Hello Selhajj101,A septoplasty is not meant to change the external appearance of the nose, only improve your breathing.  So uneven nostrils usually would not be caused by a septoplasty, although in rare cases it can be.  I would recommend you follow up with your surgeon so he or she can evaluate you.  If you are hoping to change the shape of the nostrils and the crookedness of the nose then that is a rhinoplasty.  That would not usually be covered by insurance.  If you aren't comfortable with your surgeon then consider consulting with a facial plastic surgeon to go over what options exist to help you reach your goals.  I hope this helps and good luck.  

Thanks for your question. If all you had was a septoplasty, then usually that shouldn't change what your nostrils look like. If you're concerned about what your nose looks like, please go and visit with your surgeon and see what they think. Even if you're a couple of years out, they wouldn't want you to be unhappy with your result. Good luck!

Dear selhajj101, I would suggest that you speak with your surgeon regarding your concerns. Generally septoplasty does not make your nostrils asymmetric or your nose crooked it is designed to help your breathing function and generally helps these concerns. if you are looking for aesthetic changes you may want to consider having a rhinoplasty procedure and may want to seek consultations with experts in the field.
