I have had breast implants for 8 years under the muscle. I have pain in my sternum area.

Pain can be from different sources: implants, ribs junctions etc. Best is to be evaluated for capsular contracture and make sure your implants are not causing the pain. A board certified plastic surgeon is the one to see.

I don't think your pain is related to your breasts or your implants.  Most sternal pain is related to an inflammation of the junction of the sternum with the ribs.  This is especially true in situations where the pain is positional and exaggerated by doing upper body exercises.  If the pain is on one side of the sternum or the other and you can push on the area to recreate the pain, or if it gets worse when you lift something heavy or do a push up, costochondritis is almost certainly the diagnosis.  You might look it up on WebMD and see if the symptoms they present match yours. If so, see your family doctor.  If not, see your plastic surgeon.  

Thank you for your question. The pain could several reasons and may or may not related to breast implants. I recommend you you see your PS for evaluation. 

It's tough to say really, and clearly it would require an in-office exam with a plastic surgeon to get an idea of what's going on.  Ideally, your original surgeon would be your best reference.  Pain like this can be from capsular contracture, from nerve pain or stretch, or for some other reason.  You may need a pocket change to subglandular implant placement if all else fails.
