Is it okay to exfoliate the scalp after a hair transplant? I had a FUT transplant in 2006.

Removing the dead skin on the outer surface technically should not harm the grafts after several years from the transplant. They should be totally healed by now and there is no difference between the grafted hair and the native hair.

You can treat your transplanted hair and scalp as you would your normal non-transplanted hair.  If you are concerned it is best to contact your doctor.

12 years after a transplant, you are no more likely to damage your grafts than you are to damage your native hair follicles, either with exfoliation or shaving.

At 12 years, you are fully normal and can do whatever you want to your scalp. I am not sure how you intend to exfoliate it from the information you supplied
