What happened to my face after CO2 laser and what are my options to fix this damage? (Photo)

My original surgeon terminated our medical relationship when he saw what my face looked like after he performed CO2 laser. Can anyone please tell me what you think happened and what treatment (if any) would improve this? I am so upset and haven't left my house since this happened. Healthy 26 year old with zero medical conditions. Followed after care instructions to leave aquaphor on 24/7
