Do my temporary veneers look normal?

Hi, I am in the process of getting veneers and I don’t quite like the temps . My teeth werent awful to begin with. I wanted to close a small gap the front 2 incisors and correct some damage from grinding . Now that the temps are in, I think they look bulky and crooked . My dentist is very nice. Him and everyone at his office were telling me how great they look and so now I’m wondering if I just have unrealistic expectations or are the permanents going to be much better than the temps ?

Temporary veneers have the shape and size of future permanent veneers, although the material they are made of is different from the permanent. This is why the temporary veneers stage is important to decide whether to change something you don't like. Although photos are not enough, a proper smile design would be necessary to achieve an improvement in the aesthetics of the veneers. Advice from a periodontist is going to be needed, and thus avoid the square shape of the veneers to close spaces with gingiva.

My honest opinion is that the chosen shape isn't the correct one. some people have round teeth others flat squared, round edges etc. it all in conjunction makes a perfect smile design. You as the client should have a say when deciding what looks best to you. Always ask for a mock up so you can see how you are going to look. The mock up also helps the profesional and the client to decide the way the lab will be doing the teeth. I think you were looking for flat squared textured teeth. Normally once you get veneers it take a few weeks to get accustomed but when you get the porcelains make sure ask for a mock up and choose your design details so it can be customized to suit your expectations.
