Answer: Post op instructions You should discuss your limits with your plastic surgeon. It is important that you not engage in strenuous activities in the first 6 weeks after surgery. Aerobic exercise will raise your bloodpressure, which could cause late bleeding and harm your result. If your job keeps you sedentary, you may return to work when you feel comfortable, several days after surgery. Once you begin exercising again, start gently and let your body tell you what it can tolerate. Don’t rush!! You should avoid heavy lifting and straining for six weeks. You may, however, do normal activities at any time if they cause no pain or discomfort. Let your body tell you what you can or cannot do.

Answer: Activity You may have over worked today, especially if you did much lifting, pushing, or pulling. I would suggest limiting your work to light lifting, and asking your surgeon what restrictions you have now. Most patients can resume full activities at 6 weeks.

Answer: Returning to work after breast augmentation Patients in my practice are advised to avoid vigorous activity for six weeks after breast reduction. Your surgeon will be in the best position to advise you about resuming activities after surgery based on your individual recovery. You should ease back into your regular level of activity and try to rest if you feel discomfort.

With my technique I developed, I tell my patients that three weeks after a breast enlargement they can go back to the gym and lifting heavy weights. There are different techniques surgeons use and they may have a different answer. Please consult with your plastic surgeon who will be preforming your surgery. I hope you find this useful.
