Am I feeling a fold or ripple in my gel implant?

Thank you for your question. If you have thin breast tissue covering your implant, you are more likely to feel and ripples or folds in your implant.  I would definitely visit with your plastic surgeon who can examine you and help determine if what you feel is implant related, or if additional work up is warranted.  

It's true that rippling is much less likely with gel implants versus saline implants. Nevertheless it can occur. Any breast lump should be checked by your plastic surgeon to determine that it is indeed the prosthesis and not something else.

Any lump in a breast needs to e evaluated very carefully. You must see your surgeon to be properly evaluated.  Good luck.

Please see your PS for an examination as then possible answers as to what the lump in your breast is can be determined.  It may just be the implant that you are feeling but better to be safe than sorry.

Based on your description you probably are feeling the edge or a full review silicon gel implant of course it is important that she follow up here plastic surgeon but I would not be alarmed.
