Are 475cc implants too big? (Photo)

Hello, for most people, 475cc implants will result in a substantial increase in breast size.  However, it is difficult to state whether these implants will be too large for a person without a proper consult including discussion of your goals, proper exam, trying on sizers, etc.   If you are having second thoughts I'd recommend getting in touch with your surgeon.  I hope it all goes well.

Unfortunately there is no formula or computer program that can accurately predict bra size, partly because even bra makers can't agree what a C cup is. We focus more on the 'look' that you want, but also your build/lifestyle/etc. I gather you're a diver, therefore fairly active and in good shape, so you don't want to go too big. But in the end, most women will tell you they wish they had gone a little bigger. Hard to give more specific advice without examining you.

It is difficult to give you advice without an examination and measuring your breasts.  I have had patients very similar to your appearance that did great with 475cc implants.  We offer an imaging system called Vectra that gives patients a very good idea of what the results of surgery will be and find this very helpful in guiding patients to the size they like.  Best wishes for your surgery!

There is no correlation between bra manufacturing companies and implant manufacturing companies. Go by how you feel about the chosen size. If you have doubts- go back for re-sizing and go over your options with your Surgeon.

Take a couple ziplock bags and use rice to fill them with
the amount of volume that will be in your breast implant. You can use regular kitchen measuring cups to
do this. Then take it to the bra store
and try on different bras with the bags stuffed in. This will give you a cheap and easy way to
know what size bra you will fill out after the surgery.

I would suggest going back to your surgeon and trying on sizes. A 475 cc implant is somewhat large and heavy. Your surgeon can give you the best idea of what range of implants would be best for your frame and tissue. Remember, you want to look good now, and look good in 20 years, and even at 40 years.

Based on your photographs, I think that you are starting at a good place and should have a very nice outcome with breast augmentation surgery.  There is no accurate/reliable/predictable correlation between size/profile breast implant utilized and cup size achieved. Given your questions and concerns, I would suggest that you spend additional time communicating directly with your plastic surgeon, preferably prior to the date of surgery.

Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery (regarding breast implant type/size/profile selection) is:

1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work.
2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals.
In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. In bra sizers can be useful communication tools also. I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "C or D cup" or "too big for me" etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful.
Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. The use of computer imaging may be very helpful during the communication process.
3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery ( after the use of temporary intraoperative sizers). Will

Your best bet when you are trying to decide on implants is to try on sizers of the exact implant you are considering inside a very tight sports bra. This will give you a close idea of what you will look like. More importantly the dimensions or width of the implants need to match and fit your frame and body.
