Hate my 2 veneers! Do they HAVE to be so bulkey and thick and buckey? is my desired outcome too much to ask? (photos)

Hello Steph,Sorry to hear what's happened, but I can tell you that I would have the veneers removed because they do not look good at all.  You can ask your current dentist to redo them, if you'd like to give him another try and not spend more money, or you can possibly go elsewhere and spend more money.  I'm sorry this has happened, but unfortunately, this is my advice.Good luck and I hope this helps. Looking at before and after pictures of your porcelain veneers, they do appear bulky.Since your dental veneers already have been bonded to your teeth, unfortunately you must redo them.There is possibility of reshaping and re countering of the porcelain veneers, but you will loose the glaze and shine.Problem I see with your veneers, can be due to under preparation of your teeth, or possibly the laboratory gave you bulky veneers, and uneven front gum lines, which can give your dental veneers un even length also.Your porcelain veneers can be re- fabricated so they are flush to your adjacent teeth and look natural.There is no reason why you should not love your new dental veneers.

I'm sorry to hear that you don't love your new veneers. I always try in my patient's veneers and make sure that they are happy with them before we bond them into place. However, I understand if you may not have been able to tell until they were completely finished. Now that they are already bonded, for them to be redone would actually require removing them and designing new ones. Veneers don't have to be bulky. You need to have sufficient shaping of the natural tooth to allow room for the veneers to be flush with the adjacent teeth. This can definitely be achieved. Also, I often use our soft tissue laser in combination with cosmetic cases to contour the gum levels so they can frame the teeth appropriately, seeing that you have two different gum heights.In the reorder process, just make sure that you clearly define what shape you would like to achieve and hopefully the dentist can work with his/her lab technician to help you achieve to look you desire.
