I got temps the other day before I get my veneers and one of the teeth are black, so im wondering how can i get rid of the blackness on it? thanks
Answer: Stain on temporary veneer ... Please see response to your previous question. You need the temporary redone. This is a fast, inexpensive way to correct this problem, until your permanent veneer/crown is cemented. Good luck and I hope this helps. Answer: How to get rid/removal of black spot on a porcelain veneer temporary? If your temporary porcelain veneer shows the black spot do not attempt to do it yourself, seek dental treatment from another dentist if your dentist is not around. There is a possibility that your temporary is too thin, in which a little bonding procedure can do the trick, or possibly some foreign material was incorporated in the veneer temporary, in which is better you do not do it yourself. It is very easy to fix, if you seek a dentist to help you with that !Best of luck !

Answer: Blackness on Temporary Tooth Based on the photo it appears you either have contamination, micro-leakage under the temporary restoration, or the tooth structure under the plastic material is very dark and is showing through in a thin area. Contamination can occur from various medicaments the dentist may have used. These can react with the oral environment and turn black. Micro-leakage is a situation in which the cement seal around the temporary is broken and fluid and pigment can leak under the plastic temporary and cause staining. If the tooth is dark underneath then the crown preparation may need to be modified to eliminate the "show-thru" you see. Give your dental office a call and tell them what's happened. I'm sure they would want you to come in right away to determine the best steps they should take to correct the problem. We wish you the best of luck!
