You are correct with tip swelling lasting one year. The nasal bridge is swollen for 3-6 months. Most of the swelling improves at 3 months and rest should go away in the following 3 months.
The answer to this question depends upon what exactly was done to the bridge of your nose. For example, having the bridge augmented with grafts or lowered and then having the bones brought in will have differing amounts of swelling. However, in general, the swelling of the bridge goes down a bit faster than the swelling of the tip, but there still may be swelling of the bridge up until a year as well. I hope this helps.
The bridge may be swollen for up to a year or so as well after a rhinoplasty. Be patient with the results.
For a straight forward dorsal reduction of the bone and cartilage in a primary rhinoplasty, I generally tell my patients that the swelling reduces from the top down over the year in the following manner: the top 1/3 of the nose in the first 4 months, the middle 1/3 in the second four months, and finally the lower 1/3 or tip in the last 4 months of the year recovery. Other maneuvers such as extensive cartilage grafting or revision rhinoplasty may result in longer swelling and recovery. Good luck with your healing!
