I just got my cast removed and as I already know, the tip will be swollen for maybe even up to a year but I'm wondering how long the bridge of my nose will be swollen for?
Answer: Rhinoplasty Swelling For a straight forward dorsal reduction of the bone and cartilage in a primary rhinoplasty, I generally tell my patients that the swelling reduces from the top down over the year in the following manner: the top 1/3 of the nose in the first 4 months, the middle 1/3 in the second four months, and finally the lower 1/3 or tip in the last 4 months of the year recovery. Other maneuvers such as extensive cartilage grafting or revision rhinoplasty may result in longer swelling and recovery. Good luck with your healing!
