I had a thread lift one and half years ago. I still have swelling along the thread line on my cheeks. Why has this happened and is there any way to remove the threads?

Infection or inflamatory reaction to a treads is a reson for this complication. The only way to deal with it is to remove trads.  In person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon is recommended. Good luck.

Most thread-lifts are based on absorbable threads, which would no longer be present 18 months post procedure. So, in all likelihood, there is nothing to remove.  Depending on your goals, the definitive way to address aging changes in the face is a deep plane facelift, which would also allow for release of the soft tissues and help correct the currently perceived problem.
