When should I feel relief from Botox injections? Had 4 Botox injections 3 days ago for TMJ relief.

I had 4 Botox injections (2 at either side of my face) 3 days ago for tmj relief. I'm still in agony and wondered when I should start to feel the tightening pains subside? I've tried all different kinds of strong medication for just over 3 years now and had no joy.

Botox works very well for TMJ but it does take time to take effect. usually there should be some result at about 7-10 days but the masseter is so large it may take a little longer

It depends on the location.  It takes anywhere from 3 to 5 days and in some instances like the bulky masseter muscles, 2 weeks.  Best wishes.

Generally speaking Botox takes anywhere from three to five days to start working, but it may take up to 10 days in strong muscles like the muscles of the jaw. It may take up to 2 weeks for the full effect to become obvious. Be patient and the relief is on the way. Good luck from New York City

Botox typically takes 5-10 days to kick in when used in the forehead or crow's feet. Because the masseter muscles (the ones that you use to chew, and the ones you are clenching due to your TMJ) are very large, it can take longer for the botox to affect them. I advise patients to wait 2 weeks to start feeling the effects of botox in the masseter muscles. You will start to see muscle atrophy (slimming due to lack of use) at around 4 weeks.
