I went to Dr. K’s office twice for lip filler and each visit was honestly disappointing from start to finish.
When I booked my first filler appointment, I expected professionalism and good bedside manner since Dr. K is a facial plastic surgeon. I arrived early, signed all the paperwork, and was taken into a private room to wait. After a while, the lights actually turned off automatically, and I sat there alone for nearly three hours. No one came in to update me, check in, or apply numbing cream until right before Dr. K finally entered. I wasn’t in the main waiting area; I was already placed in one of the treatment rooms.
When she and another woman eventually came in, they seemed rushed and stressed. They apologized for being “super busy,” asked quickly what I wanted, applied numbing cream, left, and then returned to inject me. The injections themselves took seconds, maybe two minutes total, and then I was sent straight out to pay. It felt like I was on a conveyor belt, not being treated by a facial surgeon who values precision and care.
The results
Unfortunately, the results reflected that rushed energy. The filler ended up inside my lip, creating visible thick ridges when I flipped it inward. It caused a temporary speech impediment (I was lisping for a while) because the filler was sitting in the wrong place.
I later went to a completely different provider to have the filler dissolved. That injector was shocked at how much product had been sitting inside the lip tissue instead of the border. It took multiple rounds of hyaluronidase to fix it, which cost me even more money. At Dr. K’s office I paid roughly $500-$750 per syringe, and every bit of that filler ended up being dissolved elsewhere.
After that, I lost all trust in the clinic.
My Botox appointment
During the filler issue, I had actually come in once for Botox in my masseter muscles because I have TMJ. That was done by one of Dr. K’s nurses. I had a few leftover units, so she suggested using them on my forehead, which was fine. But then, completely unprompted, she looked at me and said:
“You’d be a perfect candidate for under-eye filler.”
At the time, I was 25 years old and had only come in because my jaw was locking. I never asked about cosmetic filler under my eyes. I told her no, that I was happy with how my eyes looked.
Still, that comment stuck with me. It didn’t feel like medical guidance, it felt like an upsell, the kind of sales pitch that preys on insecurity. I left feeling uncomfortable and self-conscious, which no patient should ever feel after a medical visit.
Overall impression
Between the excessive wait times, the rushed procedure, the misplaced filler, and the unnecessary cosmetic suggestions, my experience here was deeply unprofessional and disappointing.
I’ve since gone to other licensed providers and never had to wait like that or been made to feel pressured into extra procedures. Every other place communicates clearly, checks in, and treats me like a person, not a transaction.
I wish I’d trusted my gut and gone somewhere else the first time. If you’re considering this clinic, I’d encourage you to research thoroughly and read the other reviews mentioning long waits. Just because someone has a title like “facial plastic surgeon” doesn’t automatically mean you’ll get better care or results.
Would I recommend this provider?
No, I would not.
I had to pay even more money to fix the damage, lost trust in their professionalism, and felt dismissed as a patient. I would rather go to a newer injector who takes their time and cares about precision than repeat this experience again.
