PRF gel is typically made by heating and denaturing the plasma. The gel alone may temporarily act as a filler but will not last very long. PRP or PRF contains active regenerative properties that help to rejuvenate your skin. PRF releases it's growth factors slowly compared to PRP so it may have more benefit. PRF gel alone has no regenerative properties. Ideally, combining PRF gel with PRF liquid will cause the PRF to sick around longer and the gel will act as a scaffold for regenerative tissue to form. So the answer is not PRF gel or PRF liquid. It's both.
The liquid version of PRF is excellent for dark undereye circles and crepey skin under the eyes. It is also excellent for helping rejuvenate the skin around the mouth to smooth out fine lines and creases. PRF liquid version is a great choice where tissue regeneration is the only goal. Biofiller (gel version of PRF) is great for lips, nasolabial folds, cheeks, temples, marionettes and chin as it provides some volume restoration in addition to the regenerative properties. Biofiller is a great choice for patients looking for volume restoration as well as tissue regeneration. For optimal results, two treatments are recommended 6 weeks apart.
