Hair won’t grow past 1cm - is it dead? (Photo)

Question

I’m 6 months post fue and whilst I’m experiencing growth around a quarter of the hair has been the same length for 4 months. Short spikey, initially shed but since growing back hasn’t grown any longer. I’m worried this hair is dead and once it drops out it won’t come back. Is this normal?

I know exactly what this is. It is hair that was supposed to shed but you have not been aggressive with scrubbing your scalp during your shampoos. You need to realize that you help shedding hairs by scrubbing during a shampoo. I guarantee that if you tugged on each follicle it would come right out with no resistance. This would mean it was supposed to shed and is trapping the new hair from going. Once you get these hairs off of your scalp you will see new growth soon. If you leave them, you could cause a reaction.

It can take 6 to 12 months after surgery to see results.  If you are concerned it is best to contact your doctor.

I would go  back and speak with your doctor as I would expect that by now you should be seeing growth at about 1/2 inch per month
