Hair stuck under the skin. Any suggestions?

I have had six session of laser hair removal. Results were good. My last and final session was 5 and a half weeks ago. There is one hair o my chin that seemed to get lasered and stop growing. I assumed it would fall out naturally in a few days. But it never fell out. Now it is like an ingrown hair that just doesn't grow. I exfoliate every day and it's still stuck under my skin. The skin is not raised or irritated in any way. How do I get the stuck hair out??

Check with your physician or laser center first. 8 weeks should be a prudent time. Be also cautious of the UV light exposure of tanning beds as it will damage and age your skin faster than normal sun exposure. Consider the risks of skin cancer and melanoma too.Hope this helps,Dr. Gus Diaz

Electrolysis rarely results in permanent hair loss.  It is more similar to plucking the hair.  Laser hair removal can result in a permanent solution.  Be careful with this, however.  If they accidentally treat too large of an area, you might wind up with an unusual and...

The reason hair has to be shaven before laser hair removal is the laser is attracted to the pigment of the hair.  If there is hair above the skin not only are you at a higher risk for a burn on the surface of the skin, the laser will not penetrate below the skin to kill the follice....
