I got a beard and hair transplant of 4400 grafts about one month ago, 2200 to the temples and front hairline and 2200 for the beard I have noticed that now when my hair is growing out on my crown, it has less density and thickness than it had before the procedure despite that we didn't even touched the crown area Have also been in contact with my doctor and he suggests that i should start taking finasteride or xpecia, but i think it may just be some kind of reaction after procedure? 1 month pics

Answer: Less hair on the crown after transplant It would be highly unusual to see shock loss in a region that was not involved with transplant whatsoever. In all likelihood, your doctor is correct - this is an accelerated progression of androgenic alopecia (male hair loss). Propecia is the best treatment to slow down advancement of this process. All the best - Sam Jejurikar, MD

Answer: Less hair on crown after transplant İt may be a ongoing process of AGA or shock loss of HT donor area. Transplanted graft’s hair starts to shedding in the first week of surgery and may go on untill 4-6 th weeks after surgery. İt is not surprising to lost approx. %70-80 of all transplanted hair shafts in first month when you are washing, gently rubbing or touching the head. İt is shock loss and not permanent. Even your native hair may affected with that post traumatic transient hair loss…New hair at transplant and donor area starts to grow at 3-4 th month after surgery .
