Question

when I went to the gym I fell back and hit my head on a metal bar. The next day I had a huge bump where the bar had contact with my head. About three weeks passed and the bump disappeared and my head felt normal. Until I got a hair cut and I realized I had a bald spot about one inch where the bump used to be. I didn't see it as a big deal so I waited another month for my hair to grow. it's been 2 months after the incident at the gym and I still have a bald spot but with little thin hairs on it.

I would advise you to see a dermatologist. This may not be alopecia areata. There are actually a few things this could be. See an expert in person.

If the bald area is the result of your bump, then you should have to wait up to 8 months for the hair to cycle to see if it regrows. If it is due to some other cause like alopecia areata, then only a doctor can address this.
