Does Tazorac make your acne worse before it gets better?

I have been using Tazaroc nightly along with Aczone in the mornings on my face for at least 2 months now. My face seems to only be getting worse. Is this normal? Does it get worse before it gets better or should I try something new?

Since Tazorac helps clean out the pores, it can cause a flare in your acne.  If Aczone is not helping, please return to your dermatologist since additional medication or treatments such as Isolaz or photodynamic therapy may be appropriate for you.

Typically a  tazorec induced flare would last a week or two.  If your acne is still active, I would consider other options such as oral antibiotics or blue light therapy.  Also you should be evaluated for underlying causes of acne such as hormones etc.  If you are a woman, have you ever been on birth control pill?
