After a new crown placement there is a slight gum recession which I did not have before. Should I blame the dentist for that?

We always take an impression for a temporary of a full tooth. So we either take an impression of an existing crown or build the tooth with filling material and take an impression of that before we prepare for a new crown. Then a final impression is taken of the prepared tooth for crown fabrication. There's nothing odd about that.As far as recession, we have to manipulate the gums when we are taking impressions or seating a crown. That can take several days to go back to it's normal position. It may be that the dentist manipulated your gums a little to move them out of the way and it will take a few days to rebound back to normal.
