For patients who can no longer benefit from Botox or fillers, a thread lift is a great alternative to a facelift. Thread lifts are a minimally-invasive option to lift the deeper layers of skin to enhance facial contours. This procedure can help transform your aging, sagging skin for a more youthful appearance. At our office in Beverly Hills, we offer two types of thread lifts: the NovaThread lift and Silhouette InstaLift.
Absolutely. Marionette lines, sometimes referred to as the melomental fold, are one of the primary treatment area for PDO threads. Some patients may see added benefits by combining their thread lift procedure with facial filler injections.
Hello and thanks for posting.PDO suspensory threads represent a legitimate treatment option for marionette lines and general facial lifting and tightening. PDO stands for polydioxanone, a polymer which has been used as the primary component of absorbable sutures for decades. The suspensory thread itself is reabsorbed by the body over several months and results in collagen stimulation and fibrosis. The suspensory threads have tiny barbs along their length which attached to the deep dermis and produce an immediate tightening and lifting effect for facial tissue. PDO threads represent the most exciting new development in the field of nonsurgical facial and body rejuvenation. I hope that this information helps and best of luck to you!
Thank you for asking the question. The use of threads in lifting procedure is very controversial. The P.D.O threads which are self-dissolving and works about 6 to 7 months only produce a temporary procedure. However, a definite result is visible. The other option is to go in for COG threads which are more common to give a better lifting effect. Both this procedures are done in local anesthesia and are office-based procedure. So, till you are mentally ready for a face lift, you can opt-in for a thread lift procedure. I would suggest that you first consider P.D.O threads and if you are happy with the amount of lift it is able to create then you can continue with it or shift on to COG threads. Overtime, may be in few years you should mentally prepare for a face-lift Regards, Dr. Amit Gupta
Thank you for asking the question. Thread lift is extremely controversial. The modern-day absorbable P.D.O threads are a little controversial. Most surgeons in the United States of America believe that they don’t work at all. In our parts of the world, in India and Russia, they are being used a...
