PDO stands for polydioxanone, a polymer which has been used as the primary component of absorbable sutures for decades. The suspensory thread itself is reabsorbed by the body over several months and results in collagen stimulation and fibrosis. The suspensory threads have tiny barbs along their length which attached to the deep dermis and produce an immediate tightening and lifting effect for facial tissue.
