I've noticed that my chin and mouth areas are asymmetrical and that my chin is disproportionately long. When I smile it only becomes more noticeable. Would V-line surgery help this or is there another procedure that could improve my face shape.

You have made a good self assessment. I think that V line surgery to diminish the width of the angle of your mandible, a reduction rhinoplasty and buccal fat pad reduction will help provide a thinner appearance to your face.
We do this procedure 3-4 times each week and have done so for around 20 years. This is, in fact, one of the most common procedures we do at our office in Boston.
