I usually recommend 4 weeks for contact sports after a surgery like this.  The risk is re-injury to the nose and septum.Talk to your surgeon about specific recommendations.I have also used face masks to provide extra protection for those wanting to return to activity sooner.

Most healthy patients can begin to resume some form of physical activity within 2-4 weeks of having a septoplasty. Recommendations can vary, depending on the particular case, the level of activity desired and the doctor's personal preference. Share your concerns with your physician and ask for advise. One special consideration with college competitive soccer is the risk of getting hit again during one's recovery. If possible, I would recommend scheduling the septoplasty in the off season. This should help with full recovery for most contact sports. Good luck.
