Very large open pores that have only appeared very recently. 27/F, previously had very little issues with my skin. I have tried various products & home remedies as well as altering my diet to include foods that boost collagen production & general skin health, started taking hydrolysed collagen tablets with no visible change. My last resort would be dermaroller or dermapen treatment as I have heard little about negative side effects. Will this treatment actually help my large pores?
Answer: Pore size is genetic and very difficult to reverse Dear patient, I have practiced Dermatology and Cosmetic surgery for nearly 16 years. My center own 30 different laser and light sources and we have performed over 100000 laser cases. Pore size is genetic and very difficult to alter. Topical Retin A over many months helps shrink the size of the pores, so does Accutane orally. Several photofacials over many months helps a little and a newer laser called Clear and Brilliant laser also helps tighten pores. I want to caution you that, at least in my hands, Dermabarasion, Dermarollers and Dermapen, have resulted in prolonged enlargement of the pores. I believe this is due to edema and inflammation. Fractional CO2 laser can also at times increase pore size. When it comes to pore size: less is more. Go conservative and have your doctor do test spots away from the center of the face before treating the entire face. I hope this was helpful to you.

Answer: Recommend doing Resurfacing lasers combined with a chemical peel such as TCA to help minimize the appearance of large pores. Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Pore size I have the same problem and have found Dermapen treatments and masks to help my pore size. It isn't a 100% fix but it did improve it for me.

Answer: Treatments for large pores Large pores are due to oil glad openings. Although most people do not like them, they actually signify less chances for wrinkles in the future.Large pores can be treated with products (creams and a good skin care), prescription creams such as Retin A, chemical peels (specifically design to reduce pore appearance), good diet and sun protection and lasers. Dermarollers have only modest benefit in this situation. I recommend that you see a dermatologist that specializes in skin rejuvenation and get a thorough consultation and assessment prior to spending more money.I hope that helps and best regards, Dr. Sapijaszko.
