Yes, you still could have surgery, even with a history of PE. We would take specific precautions to minimize the risk including medication, where we operated, and post operative care. I would also vehemently disagree with anyone suggesting smoking after surgery is appropriate, it will inhibit your body's recovery process.

First, discuss this with your medical doctor. You may need to be placed on an injectable blood thinner for the procedure. If it has been 10 years since your embolism and you have done well since, you should be able to have surgery. Don't try to get large implants to avoid a lift. It does not work.
