Hi there! I had nasolabial folds which I let fill in august 2018. But she overfilled them next to the lines, which created 2 “lumpy” looking nods on the sides. 5 months later ( January 2019) I had enough of it and I asked the injector to dissolve it with hyaloronidase. But it didn’t help. How can it be that 10 months of Belotero Voluma and dissolving is the lumpiness is still visable? Photo 1 right after filling August 2018 Photo 2,3,4 now, 10 months later Thanks!
Answer: Need to come in to consult For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Nasolabial folds Thank for your question and for providing pictures. I'm sorry you didn't achieve the look you desired. At this point it seems that you may need more treatments to dissolve the filler. I always recommend scheduling an appointment with an experienced doctor in order to get the best results. All the best.

Answer: Filler Complications Dear Tummy27,Voluma in my opinion is a poor choice for the nasolabial folds because of its density. It is possible that your hyaluronidase was not injected correctly or you were underdosed. Otherwise, you may have developed some scar tissue to be removed. There is also always the possibility you were injected with something else. I recently had a patient who had lumps on her lips, and had been told she had Juvederm, but when the pathology came back it was silicone. Make sure your injector is experienced and reputable.Good luck,Nirmal R. Nathan, M.D. Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgeons Real Self Hall of Fame

Answer: Nasolabial lines Hi, Thank you for your question and attached photos. It appears that the nasolabial lines were injected superficially with a product that is not intended for this region. My suggestion would be to attend a reputable clinic and have further attempt to dissolve the filler using Hyalase. Sometimes, it can take a couple of sessions for the filler to completely dissolve. Once the old filler is dissolved, consider lifting the cheeks with midface filler - which will also improve the nasolabial lines you were trying to address in the first instance. All the best!

Answer: Nasolabial Folds Thank you for the question and photos! Voluma would not have been my first choice for that area. A risk of any filler is that you may have bumps after. Sometimes it takes several sessions to completely dissolve those bumps, especially if they are larger. I would suggest massaging the area and consider following up with your injector. Good luck!
