What can I do about scars from scratches that are turning dark? (Photo)

Greetings, I ran into fight at a bar with a guy and his girl friend scratched my face badly. I've been treating the scar with scar away for 4 days and it's been 19 days since the incident. Is there anything you recommend? My scars were red at first but they have started turning dark and I'm afraid they won't go away.

Dark scars respond well to application of Melarase creams. If you want the scars to improve faster, then you may also use alpha beta hydroxy acid pads such as Melapads. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles

this requires lightening creams and scar gel for now, and then may need laser treatments in the future.  I suggest you see a laser dermatologist with experience in treating scars.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Hi Nrocha.  There are a couple options, but it's difficult to tell from the photos which one would be right for you.  We have seen injuries like this leave indentations (texture) in the skin.  If this is the case in your situation, then we would recommend fractional laser resurfacing.  If the scars have healed with no texture issues, then we would recommend some hydroquinone or q-switched lasers to fade the dark color.
