Hello, Im so nervous I’m going to make the wrong choice on breast augmentation size! I am 5’9, 152lbs, and my chest size they measured is 14, im also a 36A. I would like to go full C maybe even D. i just don’t want to look super fake. My first consultation went great, he recommended but he recommended 560cc high profile Natrelle. Does that seem right for my goals? Im Scared of the high number Help please and thank you!

Dear danidaniddd,

breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. 
When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.
Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.
Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.
You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.

Thanks for your question! Were you able to try on implants? That really isn't a huge size for someone who is 5'9", Implants all look different on different body types. If you were able to try them on and liked the way they looked, you will be happy! You can always get a second opinion from that surgeon or another. Best of luck!

The choice of implant size/volume is a decision which is best made in concert with your board certified plastic surgeons. There are a number of factors which play into the decision including patient desire and chest measurements. Ultimately, your surgeon, based upon his/her exam will be able to guide a prospective patient toward reasonable options.
There are a number of tools available to help a patient make decisions with range offered by their surgeon including sizers, goal photos and 3D imaging. However, it is important to realize that these are "guides" and not "guarantees." They are meant to offer a patient a reasonable estimate on which to make decisions.
3D imaging has become an effective tool for discussing options for patients and narrowing down choices. However, it is important to remember that the imaging is only a simulation. There is no substitute for the experience of a board certified plastic surgeon. 
It is vitally important to spend time discussing the results of your imaging consultation with your surgeon. As this will help clarify your goals/expectations and guide your surgeon in adjusting those expectations as needed.
With regards to your specific question, without photos, measurements it is difficult/impossible to offer any concrete advice. A HP device will generally be less subtle than a moderate or moderate (+) device. If you tried on sizers and were content with the look I would not stress over the number.
As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).

Implants are not lifetime devices. 560 cc implants weigh over 1 lb. each, will descend inferiorly and laterally and result in large low breasts. At size 36 A, each 200 cc of implant corresponds to 1 cup size change. To go from an A to a C would require 400 cc implants. I recommend the smaller volume especially if you want to avoid the fake look.

Choosing the right size and profile breast implants for you. After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. The same implant can look small on one person and large on the next.  It really depends on your unique anatomy.  Many surgeons have sample implants available that you can "try on" to give you an idea of how you may look after surgery.  Research photos of patients with your dimensions to see results from various implant sizes.
