Does topical kenalog start taking effect faster if applied directly after fractional erbium laser?

Hello, I received a treatment on a nose scar wth a fractional erbium laser with kenalog applied topically following the laser. I have read that kenalog can take a few weeks to kick in. Given that it was applied following laser, does it "kick in" sooner? If so does the effect only last as long as it takes for the kenalog to reach to scar after applied after the laser?

Kenalog (triamcinolone acetonide) is a corticosteroid medication often used to reduce inflammation and promote healing in scars. When applied topically, the absorption and onset of action can vary based on several factors, including the specific formulation, the thickness of the skin, and the condition being treated.

Applying Kenalog after laser treatment might enhance its absorption due to the temporarily disrupted skin barrier from the laser. However, the exact onset of action and how long the effect lasts can be influenced by individual factors and the specific treatment protocol used by your healthcare provider.

While you may notice softening of the scar following the laser treatment, you will not see a full effect of the scar softening from the Kenalog for 4-6 weeks. I would wait at least 6 weeks to treat the scar with any other modality.
