Should you shave before laser treatment for scar removal?

I would like to know if you need to shave before laser treatment. For example, ICON Laser from Cynosure. What if you just want a to target scars? Can shaving help the laser or does it not really matter?!

While you could attempt to improve the texture with multiple CO2 laser treatments, a scar that is that raised in that area would likely benefit from re-excision and injection of steroid. After the texture is improved, if the erythema remains, can try a PDL laser to decrease the redness.
