I am having problems with one of my knees. It's way darker than the other one. Is a chemical peel the right choice?

its way darker than the other one . that happened over the years since i was a little girl. i tried whiting creams,natural home remedies and nothing really worked. i was thinking of doing the chemical peel for hyper pigmentation . i never tried that so i don't know if that's the right choice for me.
