My left rib sticks out so much. I’ve gotten a quote from another doctor but it’s for 20k. I just want to look normal. Please tell me there is someone out there that can help me :(
Answer: Rib surgery for an improved chest contour Thanks for your question. I am sure that there are rather aggressive surgeons out there who will try nearly anything to achieve a result. Remember that your choice of any procedure involves a risk benefit analysis. There are some chest contour deformities which are so severe that the scars, pain, and potential harm is overweighed by the potential benefit. What your photos suggest is an anomaly that does not fall into that category. Personally, I would not perform such a procedure. If you decide to push forward, ask to see photos of their previous work and critically question everything. Best of luck.

Answer: Rib removal I cannot even believe you found a surgeon to go this. I strongly advise against having this done. Also consider the scar involved.

Answer: One of my ribs sticks out from scoliosis, is it possible to shave down my ribs or removing them? Thanks for the question on Real Self. Your issue is in hospital admission and operative repair in hospital with a few nights stay. Risks very high, especially since lower ribs need to be removed or in-fractured. And possible injury to the lung and ability to breath come into effect. Shaving down is NOT the correct techniques. The quote for $20,000 is rather low, I believe the $35,000 range more correct....
