What can I do to remove permanent sutures 8 months after otoplasty? Original Dr. not available. I can't take the discomfort

I am absolutely against this, I do never ever use permanent sutures in otoplasties, since the consequence is ALWAYS what you are clearly depicting.Find a surgeon who can remove them under local in an office based procedure.

As I’ve already previously written to you, you should go back to the surgeon who operated on you. Only he knows exactly which method was used for your operation and where he placed the permanent sutures. Therefore, he is the most suitable person to remove your sutures.

It would take an evaluation and examination to determine the best course of action.  If it can be ascertained with reasonable certainty that it is the sutures that are causing the pain then removal is appropriate understanding that there is a risk of the ears reverting to their original shape because no cartilage was resected.  If indeed there is a strong persistent cartilage spring then cartilage could be addressed at the time of the suture removal. With regard to surgery for pain it is only a good idea if the source of the pain can be identified.  If there is no known etiology to the pain then surgery might not improve it and could possibly exacerbate the discomfort.
