I am 20 and have a fine line across my forehead. I was thinking of using collagen wave therapy to treat it but was told the fine line is caused by the muscle and not skin elasticity at my age and the treatment would be ineffective. I was recommended microdermabrasion instead. Is this really that effective in reducing fine lines? Would 3 treatments be enough or is around 6 better? How can this treatment provide lasting results? Why is this effective for fine lines but collagen wave therapy not?

Hi Emilia,It is difficult to say what's the best plan of action without a photograph, but I would encourage you to use gentle skin cleansers, lots of gentle emollients (such as Vanicream or Cicalfate) and be very cautious about avoiding the sun. Wear a wide-brimmed hat and sunscreen at all times...
I would suggest a combination of a retinoid such as Replenish CX followed by some light chemical peels to help the collagen in the eyelids. Botox and fillers may also help. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
I continue to advocate Melarase creams for dark pigmentation on the legs. Melarase can help lighten the pigmentation and the skin tone. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
