Will a Breast Reduction lower blood pressure (after surgery benefit) if they are extremely large breasts?

 Thank you for the question. Breast reduction surgery is one of the most patient pleasing operations we perform. However, you should not expect your blood pressure to decrease simply because a breast reduction procedure is performed (even for “extremely large” breasts). On the other hand, the breast reduction procedure may allow you to  continue on a weight-loss program  more easily ( easier to exercise…);  a healthier lifestyle will certainly contribute to better blood pressure control. Large breasts by themselves are not a source of high blood pressure. Sometimes however if the breasts are large in an overweight person it is difficult to exercise. The reduction will make it easier to lose weight. Once an exercise program is started and there is associated weight reduction, blood pressure can decrease. Best of Luck!
