Am I normal? Unsure if I have capsular contracture

Question

I am 6 years post op saline mentor BA. They look great, but for a few years now and even right after I got them done my right breast has always felt different. Most recently as in past 2-3 years I am getting soreness that is kinda painful off and on. I do notice it more after some strenuous activies. I was seen by my surgeon and got an Ultrasound but everything looked and felt normal to him. But I am still left with feeling off. He said the breast is barely more firm that the other. am I ok?

Hi! The best imaging modality would be an MRI to really assess what is going on. That will help figure out if things are OK

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

If you have been examined by your surgeon and she/he feels that capsular contracture is not a current concern then you are probably fine.  It is not uncommon for the breasts to feel slightly different from one another.  If the concerns persist or worsen further testing may be warranted.

If your surgeon who has examined you states that you are ok with your implants, then you are probably ok. Your breasts are not identical twins and slight differences is common. also, you do not use your arms in identical fashion either.
